If your sweetheart prefers smaller jewelry, this tiny heart might win her over. I made a tine heart out of steel wire which I embellished with hand-colored tissue paper. The paper was dipped into encaustic medium (a resin and beeswax mixture) and then adhered to the wire.
This sculptural piece measures 1 1/2 inches long by 1 1/8 wide. The pendant comes with a black satin cord.
Encaustics should be cared for as you would for any fine art piece. Encaustic derives from the word “burn in” and is a process of applying molten wax colors to a surface for the creation of images or decoration that began more than 2 millennia ago with Roman Egyptian wax portraits.
