Shamrock Ornament for St. Patrick’s Day

May the luck of the Irish be with you with this shamrock pendant.

Steel wire was hand-bent into the a round shape, along with a 3-leaf shamrock as embellishment. Following that, handmade vibrant green paper was attached to the back with encaustic medium. This hand made steel wire ornament measures 2 1/2 inches tall by 2 inches wide. It comes with a green satin ribbon for hanging.

Encaustics should be cared for as you would for any fine art piece. Encaustic derives from the word ‘burn in’ and is a process of applying molten wax colors to a surface for the creation of images or decoration that began more than 2 millennia ago with Roman Egyptian wax portraits.
