Fuchsia and Gold Angel

Isn’t this a brilliant beauty? This lovely angel adds a pop of color and sparkle to your life with her vibrant presence. Steel wire was hand-bent into the angel shape. Handmade fuchsia and gold-leaf paper was dipped into encaustic medium and then attached to the wire with the resin and beeswax mixture. The angel comes with a silver satin ribbon for hanging. This angel measures 3 3/8 inches tall by 4 inches wide.

Encaustics should be cared for as you would for any fine art piece. Encaustic derives from the word ‘burn in’ and is a process of applying molten wax colors to a surface for the creation of images or decoration that began more than 2 millennia ago with Roman Egyptian wax portraits.

Be gentle if handling the ornament in extreme heat or cold. It is best to let the piece acclimate to room temperature. Hanging it in direct sunlight may cause some fading over time.
