Show your love with this big-hearted angel. This silver and red angel was created by hand by bending steel wire into the angel shape, followed by the heart and coil embellishment. The heart was dressed with red tissue paper dipped in encaustic medium, and encaustic-dipped silver tissue paper was attached to the angel body.
The angel comes with a red satin ribbon for hanging. This angel measures 3 inches tall by 4 inches wide and 1/2 inch deep.
Encaustics should be cared for as you would for any fine art piece. Encaustic derives from the word ‘burn in’ and is a process of applying molten wax colors to a surface for the creation of images or decoration that began more than 2 millennia ago with Roman Egyptian wax portraits. Encaustic Medium is a blend of beeswax and resin.
Be gentle if handling the ornament in extreme heat or cold. It is best to let the piece acclimate to room temperature. Hanging it in direct sunlight may cause some fading over time.Â
