A friend gifted me sheet music that included a page that is from “Where the River Shannon Flows.” This Irish Ballad resonates with many customers, and I have almost used up all the pieces. This pendant has a portion of the music score that includes the lines: “never die” and “Erin’s Shore” on the front, and “old Shannon” is visible on the back.
Steel wire was hand-bent into a round shape and embellished with a violin clef. The sheet music was cut out and dipped in encaustic medium. The paper was attached with the beeswax and resin mixture.
This pendant measures 3 inches long, 1 3/4 inches wide and 1/2 inch deep. It comes with a black satin cord. Custom (public domain) music options are available. Please allow 3 weeks for a custom order.
Encaustics should be cared for as you would for any fine art piece. Encaustic derives from the word “burn in” and is a process of applying molten wax colors to a surface for the creation of images or decoration that began more than 2 millennia ago with Roman Egyptian wax portraits.
